From April 13th to 16th, the InnoEX 2025, jointly organized by the Innovation, Technology and Industry Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, was grandly held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Zhao Yan, the Vice Governor of Jiangsu Province, and Paul Chan Mo-po, the Financial Secretary of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China, attended the exhibition. Leaders from departments such as the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, the Department of Science and Technology, and the Department of Commerce accompanied them.

This year's exhibition featured a special "Jiangsu Pavilion" with the theme of "Low-Altitude Economy", focusing on showcasing Jiangsu Province's scientific and technological innovation achievements, technologies, products, and solutions in the low-altitude economy industry. Eastern Superconducting Technology (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Eastsuper") made its debut at InnoEX 2025 with its independently developed second-generation high-temperature superconducting tapes (2G-HTS).

Vice Governor Zhao Yan visited the company's booth. He listened to the company's senior management's introduction to the company's situation and the application prospects of high-temperature superconducting products in maglev, controlled nuclear fusion, superconducting motors, and other fields. He affirmed the company's scientific and technological research and development achievements in the field of high-temperature superconducting materials and the development prospects of its products. Vice Governor Zhao encouraged the company to continue to intensify innovation and development, strengthen technological exchanges and cooperation with Hong Kong, more vigorously promote the application and promotion of technological products in new fields, and continuously expand the industrialization prospects in future industries such as the low-altitude economy and new energy.

The second-generation high-temperature superconducting tapes of Eastsuper adopt a unique rare-earth barium copper oxide (REBCO) coating technology. They have undertaken the National 863 Program and possess advantages such as high critical current density, low AC loss, and strong magnetic field stability. These tapes can significantly improve the motor efficiency and power density of electric aircraft. Compared with traditional copper materials, their current-carrying capacity has increased by more than 100 times, and at the same time, their volume and weight have been reduced by 50%, providing revolutionary energy solutions for key equipment in the low-altitude economy such as eVTOL (electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft) and large cargo drones.

The low-altitude economy not only requires breakthroughs in aircraft but also depends on the leapfrog development of upstream material technologies. Superconducting motors based on superconducting materials can provide stronger power for aircraft and reduce energy consumption, thereby extending the endurance time and enhancing the load capacity. The person in charge of Eastsuper said, "After more than a decade of research, development, and iteration, our superconducting tapes have reached an internationally leading level in terms of process and technical indicators. Their scale is developing rapidly to support the large-scale application of the low-altitude economy."

Highlight of the Exhibition: Booth B02 in the Jiangsu Pavilion

The company focuses on the research, development, and industrialization of second-generation high-temperature superconducting materials and their applications. Its products can be applied in cutting-edge scientific and technological fields such as controlled nuclear fusion, magnetic levitation, magnetic induction heating, and nuclear magnetic resonance.
