Recently, BlueStar Fusion completed current-carrying testing on its High-Temperature Superconducting (HTS) stellarator model coil under real operating conditions, using a combination of cold helium gas and conduction cooling.

During testing, the model coil consistently reached its design operating current. In extreme current-carrying stress tests, it exceeded twice its standard operational current,achieving a peak magnetic field of 10.3 Tesla (T)—setting a new national record for the strongest magnetic field achieved by an HTS stellarator model coil in China. 

Designed to reflect full-scale magnet operating conditions, this test provides solid empirical support as HTS stellarator technology transitions from critical component validation to full-scale engineering deployment.
